Absolutely loved this place! Rye Bakery is set inside a beautiful old church, and the interiors are just stunning – high ceilings, arched windows, and that warm, rustic charm you rarely find. The seating is a mix of cosy wooden tables and relaxed communal benches, giving it a relaxed and welcoming feel. The coffee is top-notch – smooth and rich – and their food is fresh, wholesome, and beautifully presented. You can really tell everything’s made with care. Great selection of pastries, sourdough, and brunch dishes too. Such a peaceful spot to relax or catch up with friends. Definitely one of the loveliest cafés in Frome!
I organised a casual birthday lunch for my 30th at the Rye Bakery. They were wonderful at accommodating a group of 10 and 2 babies on a busy Sunday. The food was delicious and the cake I ordered liked by all. Thank you to the cafe for making it a special day
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Five‑star review Visited Rye Bakery Café in the beautifully restored church off Whittox Lane— Frome. What a gem! The high ceilings, stained‑glass light, and rustic pew‑style seating create such a welcoming vibe. The coffee by Round Hill Roastery hit the spot, paired perfectly with flaky pastries and a delicious cake slice. They serve freshly made sandwiches on sourdough—simple and satisfying. The team are warm and genuine, and there’s a brilliant children’s play area tucked into a willow dome—perfect for families. Cozy, creative and community‑minded (plus dog‑friendly too!), it’s one of the nicest café experiences I’ve had recently. Highly recommend stopping by! It is also super Dog friendly and has easy disabled access and parking.
I love Rye. Not only is it the most beautiful setting in a converted church (complete with a play area that will make it the favour cafe in Frome for parents), but the care and craft poured into the food is tremendous. We enjoyed a sausage and egg cobb roll (cooked so well that the egg yolk was satisfyingly dripping down the side), a bacon sandwich on deliciously thin focaccia, and still walked out laden with bags of pastries (do not, under any circumstances, skip the morning bun and cinnamon bun). Any time we're passing through, it will be first on our list.
A beautiful church converted into a cafe - plenty of seating, kids play area, good selection of brunch, coffee and pastries to choose from. Friendly and welcoming staff with attentive service. All the food we tried was delicious and big portions too. Would definitely revisit when in Frome.
5 stars, great speciality coffee, all their own fantastic bread and locally sourced ingredients. Great for kids, buggies and even has a play area for small kids. Beautiful old church setting
I didn't eat here as was entertaining but lovely size hall, plenty of plugs. No kitchen for public use but it is connected to the cafe, which I know does delicious food and great coffee, they can also supply food for the party. You are also welcome to bring your own but remember, no kitchen. Parking is at a premium, fortunately they allow myself and the parents booking the hall to use the reserved spaces. Not much parking on the road and nearest car park is near the cinema.
